"The Lord of the Rings" :To deliver the ring, why not fly directly to the crater on an eagle? Spoilers

03 What is the Ring and why does everyone want it?

Simply put, The One Ring is the owner of 19 magical rings in Middle-earth. With The One Ring, you can rule the owners of other rings, which means you can rule the world. Who wouldn't want such a good thing?

Moreover, The One Ring will find your deepest desire, which no one can resist. Everyone has a dark side, and the Ring is its embodiment. That is to say, most people want The One Ring because they can't resist its temptation.

Sauron could not imagine that there exists a person in the world who does not want the Ring.

Yes, it's the naive Frodo. A nondescript hobbit finally becomes the hero who saves the world.

04 After defeating Sauron, why does Frodo leave?

The most touching climax of "The Lord of the Rings" maybe when Sam, on Mount Doom, shouts to Frodo "I can not carry it for you but I can carry you". You may think that it's quite good for the story of "The Lord of the Rings" to end here. Don't you think it's too long when there are 20 minutes before the end? That's because the real ending of "The Lord of the Rings" is Frodo riding away on a ship.

Those who are watching for the first time may be confused: Isn't it already a victory? Does he return home with honor? Why is he leaving?

Because of the damage the Ring causes to Frodo, he can no longer live as carefree as before. He could no longer attain inner peace and physical salvation in Middle-earth.
