Thanos can be considered a formidable villain in Marvel Universe.
He has incredible defensive abilities and can withstand the energy of six Infinity Stones in battle. Moreover, his fighting power should not be underestimated, as he can destroy half of the life in the universe with just a snap of his fingers. What's even more terrifying is his strong beliefs and unwavering determination to maintain order in the universe, which can lead him to use any means necessary. Marvel has set his abilities at a ceiling level, leaving little room for future villains to surpass him.
However, a new super villain named "Conqueror Kang" appears in Marvel's latest film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Who is "Kang, The Conqueror"?
"Kang, The Conqueror" first appeared in September 1964, with the real name Nathaniel Richards, a scholar from the 31st century who discovered time travel technology and ran to the era of ancient Egypt in an attempt to establish his own dynasty. However, he was defeated unexpectedly. As his ambition grew, he became a difficult enemy for many heroes because he could travel through time and obtain unique weapons from the future. In one battle, he defeated all the heroes and killed millions of people in Washington, so it can be said that Kang is a bug-level character from his initial appearance.
After a detailed analysis, I found that his abilities seem to surpass Thanos'.
Although as one of the strongest early villains in the Marvel universe, Thanos' strength cannot be underestimated, this new hero appearing in the latest work seems to have his own aura, presenting extraordinary power. Below, let me analyze the combat power comparison between Conqueror Kang and Thanos from six aspects, and explain why I think Conqueror Kang is stronger than Thanos.
1. The difference in cognitive levels:
Kang comes from the 31st century, and his technological level can be said to be much higher than that of Thanos, who lived in the 21st century. In other words, their cognitive levels are separated by a full 1000 years. At the same time, Kang has also traveled to other timelines and is well aware of how things have changed over these years.

2. The difference in the ability to control time:
We have witnessed the power of the Time Stone in the Infinity Stones, and Thanos used it to turn the tide, remove the Mind Stone from Vision's head, and successfully snap his fingers.

However, the Infinity Stones that took Thanos a lifetime to collect are just toys for Kang, who can manipulate time at will and knows everything that happens in any timeline, as if it were all written in a script.
The reason why Thanos could reverse time and snap his fingers was because Kang allowed him to do so, as it was "part of the plan". If Kang wants, he can make Loki kill Thanos.

3. The difference in destructive power
On the other hand, while Thanos could make half of the life in the universe disappear with a snap of his fingers, those who disappeared did not actually die and could return to reality with another snap. So, the destruction caused by Thanos was actually quite limited.
In contrast, Kang controls the multiverse, and he can destroy a universe with a snap that cannot reversed. In "Loki", we learned about the existence of the "multiversal war", where countless universes will perish, making events in a single universe seem insignificant.
4. Different Weapon Configurations
The abilities of Thanos and Kang the Conqueror themselves are not actually that strong, as they rely more on various weapons to enhance their combat power.
In the previous Marvel films, we saw that Thanos had a double-edged spiral sword, a balanced blade given to Gamora, a seemingly invisible armor, an Infinity Gauntlet crafted by the dwarves, and of course, the Infinity Stones, but it seems that his arsenal was limited to these.

Kang, on the other hand, is depicted as a future weapons expert, traveling through various time periods and possessing countless high-tech equipment from the future. We caught a glimpse of this in the TV series Loki.

In the Time Variance Authority (TVA) created by Kang, weapons like the Infinity Stones are considered average. Furthermore, within Kang's sphere of influence, the Infinity Stones are completely ineffective.
In the comic book setting, Kang's arsenal also includes high-tech weapons such as an anti-matter defense screen generator, a "vibra-ray" projector, an electromagnetic field amplifier, a neutrino ray warhead launcher, an electric paralysis generator, a nerve gas sprayer, and a molecular expander. In this regard, Kang's weapons can be said to be superior to Thanos'.

5. The difference in their minions’ strength
Thanos' two daughters both betrayed him and joined the Guardians of the Galaxy. The strongest members of the Black Order have been killed by the Avengers, and the most cunning Ebony Maw was outsmarted by Spider-Man and Iron Man.
On the other hand, Kang's minions are not to be underestimated. The cloud-like creature Alioth has the ability to consume time and space, and can influence the Multiverse War. However, Alioth has been tamed by Kang and turned into a pet. In comparison, Thanos' minions cannot compete.

6. Different records
The most obvious reason is that their track records are vastly different.
In the Avengers movies, Thanos launched the Infinity War and briefly won a victory, but was eventually defeated by the superheroes of the Avengers after just five years.
But Kang has already won the Multiversal War. The key point here is not the scale of the war, but the fact that he "has already" won. The Multiversal War took place after the events of Infinity War. Both of them have won victories, but the former was overturned, while the latter successfully survived the war. And according to the analysis above, Kang has far more strength than Thanos, so if the superheroes want to win this war, they will face a tough battle.
One of them was once the ruler of the universe, who killed all members of the Avengers and imprisoned the Hulk for millions of years.
The other one possesses the ability to manipulate time, and he can easily see through the wars between these universes. Perhaps, in his eyes, Thanos is just an insignificant existence in a certain timeline.
Maybe, more answers and clues are hidden in "Ant-Man 3". After watching this movie, you might have your own judgment on the strength of Kang the Conqueror.
