Lady Chatterley's Lover
Directed by French filmmaker Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (of the excellent film Mustang), Lady Chatterley's Lover introduces us to Connie (Emma Corrin), a young woman who experiences an initial moment of great happiness in her recent marriage to a member of the aristocracy, Clifford (Matthew Duckett), who soon goes off to war and returns with mobility issues. One day, the couple decides to spend a season at a country house, a vast property. Gradually, Connie feels more distant from her husband and increasingly alone. During a curious conversation, it is suggested to Connie that she seek out another man to father a child, and when she becomes pregnant, Clifford would assume paternity, claiming the child as his own. Struggling against an idea that goes against her principles, Connie ends up getting closer to an employee of the estate, the former soldier Oliver (Jack O'Connell), for whom a tremendous passion and desire ignite, revealing new facets of intense feelings.
Love, Rosie
In the plot, we meet the young Rosie (Lily Collins), a graceful girl who shares a close (almost romantic) friendship with her neighbor Alex (Sam Claflin). Over time, we witness the characters growing up, going through adolescence and reaching adulthood, but never having had a lasting romantic relationship. There is an evident attraction between the two lovebirds in every scene, but destiny stubbornly prevents this love story from fully unfolding.
