“Furiosa” Stole The Show At CCXP23

The mysteries surrounding “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” began to disappear on the first day of CCXP23, after welcoming director George Miller (“Mad Max”), Anya Taylor-Joy (“The New Mutants”), and Chris Hemsworth (“The Avengers”) for the release of the first trailer of the movie.

Much more than giving a taste of the visuals of the feature film, its panel revealed details about the story. Until the event, these details were confidential, starting with the identity of Hemsworth’s character: he will be Dementus, the leader of a gang.

“He is a violent and brutal guy born from a wasteland,” the actor said. “He is a product of his environment. He learned how to dominate with an iron fist; he is the person we blame for the problems and the person we follow.”

“This is a different role than the characters Chris has played before,” said George about Hemsworth’s performance, always remembered for Marvel’s Thor, and the actor agreed. "It was a lot of fun to play something different from what I’ve done in recent years. Being part of this film, it’s a dream come true. George Miller takes care of everything, and you will definitely love it,” he assured.

And no, Hemsworth’s character will not be a younger version of Immortan Joe, as speculated. The villian from “Mad Max: Fury Road” has appeared in the trailer of the new movie, face to face with…Dementus.

According to George Miller, the story of “Furiosa” will be set 45 years after The Collapse, and 15 years before the events of “Fury Road.” “There’s a lot in common [between the two films], the vehicles, the warlords, but we meet a completely new group from a wasteland, and that’s how these two characters will meet.”

“We know Furiosa as a young girl who was stolen from her mother,” added Taylor-Joy, who confessed to being very excited about the possibility of performing action scenes in the new movie.

“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” tells the story of young Furiosa, who falls into the clutches of a large gang of riders, led by Warlord Dementus, and needs to survive great challenges to find her way back home.
