CCXP23 - CHECK OUT THE HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE FOURTH DAY OF THE EVENT

Wrapping up the last day of CCXP, the event offered us many emotions, and news and left us wanting more.

We at Peliplat checked out all the panels from Thunder Stage this Sunday, let’s recall some of them here.

MADE WITH LOVE

The Mamonas Assassinas biopic panel was what started to agitate Thunder Stage this Sunday. With the presence of the film’s team to remember the importance of the band, and the palpable emotion of the fans, the Thunder Stage almost collapsed when the actors took the stage embodying the members of Mamonas and putting on a show full of hits.

Peliplat had the honor to watch the movie first hand; the story of the meteoric success of Mamonas Assassinas could have been reflected in a super traditional film, following the genre’s standard but the script and the direction preferred to pile up scenes of a disjointed life, resulting in a work that ends without emotional impulse and without any reward.

GARGOYLE OF GOTHAM

Grampá, one of the leading Brazilian names in the comic market, was one of the guests on the Thunder Stage on the last day of CCXP23. In addition to talking about the “behind the scenes” of Batman: Gargoyle of Gotham, the artist recalled details of his own career. While his mom was in the audience, Grampá remembered his childhood, when he tried to draw Batman, but his childish style made his mom think the drawings were of a donkey.

Grampá’s miniseries is part of “DC Black Label”, the publisher’s label that features stories outside the regular chronology. The comic will be divided into four parts. The first one is already sold out in Brazil.

Grampá, the first Brazilian to script and draw an official Batman adventure, ensured that in the third volume, the references to Brazilian culture will be even more evident.

MONSTERS ON THE LOOSE

The mid-season preview of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters that was shown on the Thunder Stage left kaiju fans crazy about the next episodes of the Apple TV+ show. This happened because we saw many new action scenes involving our favorite monster, Godzilla, including a confrontation with Rodan, who had only appeared in the MonsterVerse, up to now, in King of the Monsters (2019).

And new monsters will arrive, this time for the preview of Godzilla vs King Kong: The New Empire. Director Adam Wingard (Death Note) can’t attend the event but has sent a message telling us about the movie.

In this sequel, the villain of the story is a creature as old as the protagonists that was hidden in the shadows and reappears on the surface, threatening the survival of both.

BREATHLESS

As a finale to wrap up the Thunder Stage, the actors from Aquaman and Lost Kingdom showed up to tell us about their characters, the production, and the story alongside the director himself, James Wan (Saw).

Wan highlighted the fact that the production will be shown in a 3D format in theaters. “Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom looks incredible in 3D”, said the filmmaker.

It’s a perfect movie for 3D, it helps to bring life to the world we created exquisitely. I encourage everyone to watch it in 3D”, he added.

Peliplat exclusively checked out about fifteen minutes of the movie and even won exclusive tickets to watch the movie’s premiere.

LOTS OF MUSIC TO WRAP IT UP

CCXP also brought several musical artists for the wrap-up of each panel, including the band Supercombo, DJ Hitmaker, singer Rashid and world-famous DJ Alok. A mix of various musical genres for everyone to enjoy.
