Dr Rajkumar's Grandson's Nimbiya Banada Myaga Directed By Ashok Kadaba

Shanmukha Govindaraj, Dr Rajkumar’s grandson, has signed up for Nimbiya Banada Myaga, directed by Ashok Kadaba. He is the latest from the Dr Rajkumar family to enter Sandalwood after Vinay and Yuva Rajkumar, and Dheeren and Dhanya Ramkumar.
Talking about his passion for acting, Shanmukha says, “I was always inclined towards acting, but it did not happen for various reasons. Ashok Kadaba, who had seen me talking about my grandfather during my interviews, approached me with the script last year. Since I was nearing the end of my construction project, I was keen to try my hand at acting and we began shooting in December. I had done a bit of theatre during college and I would render my favourite dialogues from my grandfather’s films before the mirror. During my brief stint in an MNC, I came across a person called Basavaraj who directs and acts in plays. When we began shooting for the movie, I went through workshops and he monitored and helped me hone my acting skills.”

Nervous facing the camera the first time’On facing the camera for the first time, “I was nervous. Pankaj, my co-artiste, helped me calm down. I had a fantastic team, so it was not difficult to get into the groove,” he adds.
Sharing details about the movie, he reveals, “I was moved by the title Nimbiya Banda Myaga, which has a folk reference. It is about a mother and son, with a twist. Actor Bhavya plays my mother. A major portion of the shoot will happen in Malnad region. Though I live in a metro, I have to go to Malnad for a strong reason, which is the crux of the story. ”

On the kind of films he would like to do in future, he says: “I would love to work in a comedy film, a genre I enjoy. At the same time, I don’t want to stick to a particular genre.”
Did he seek any acting suggestions from his uncle, Shivarajkumar, and Raghavendra Rajjkumar? “They told me to take it easy and concentrate on one thing at a time and not to get too worried,” he signs off.
