Prabuddha Dissanayake (ප්‍රබුද්ධ දිසානායක), professionally known as Pcx1 Present, is a Sri Lankan rapper, songwriter, actor and director. He is the founder and owner of the Pcx1 Network.

Early life and education

Prabuddha Dissanayake, born on August 14, 2006, in Kandy, Sri Lanka, hails from a family with diverse professional backgrounds.

His father, Ranil Dissanayake, is a prominent politician and businessman, while his mother, Pramesha Nishadhi, works as a dedicated teacher. Prabuddha also has a younger brother, Yehen Bandara Dissanayake.

He began his education at St. Anthony's Boys College in Panadura, where he laid the foundation for his academic journey. Seeking to further his language skills, Prabuddha pursued English studies at the British Way English Academy. His interest in technology led him to study Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at ESOFT Metro Campus, where he continues to build his knowledge and skills in the field.

Career

Pcx1 Present, a rising talent in the Sri Lankan music scene, released his debut song, "Sellama Rap," in 2023. The track marked the beginning of his musical journey, gaining him early attention, especially through social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube. His cover of Eminem's "Godzilla" fast verse further increased his visibility and showcased his rapid lyrical delivery.

Following the success of his initial release, Pcx1 Present went on to release several tracks that resonated with listeners, including "Hipopi," "Question," "Freestyle I," and "About Friends, Pt. 1" and "Pt. 2." His song "Paapa Karmee" stands out, exploring themes such as love and addiction. The track achieved significant success, accumulating over 500,000 streams across major streaming platforms, further cementing his growing presence in the music industry.

Directed Projects

In addition to his music career, Pcx1 Present expanded his creative pursuits into directing. From 2021 to 2023, he was the driving force behind the YouTube series Mr. Andare — Comedy S01, where he took on roles in directing, acting, and producing. This series showcased his versatility and talent in multiple areas of production, allowing him to reach an even broader audience.
