My Valentine’s Crushes

Well this is a fun challenge I must confess, because I am not thinking on only one character, I am thinking of all of my adolescent crushes, and to keep it short, I have chosen three beautiful ladies whom once in a while I still dream of going on a date. I don’t care if they are older now, I am still infatuated with all of them. Of course, In a good way. Guilty as charged.

We are going to start with my first and true love: Padme Amidala. The first time I met her was during her first’s reign as Queen Amidala of the Naboo. I confess, it was very difficult to connect with her with all the makeup and extreme formalism. Always so cold in her voice and the way of addressing anyone, not necessary to the nation. This did not bother me, on the contrary, I loved every second and undoubtedly it was worth the wait because ten years later, after her term expired, she became Senator Amidala.

Now, as a senator, it was more accessible, not for romantic affairs but for helping people which I also loved about her. Her kindness and willingness to do what she must. That aside, she always kept a secret or something of that sort. If I ended up marrying her, I always imagine the ceremony would have taken place in the Lake House. Oh yes, absolutely. Contemplating her beauty in the already marvelous place in the whole galaxy. Honestly, a date with her even if it was only eating pears would have brought warms feelings to my heart.

But none of this would have been possible after the rise of the Galactic Empire. Well, I am always going to remember her with the white and purple long dress, back discovered while looking at the sunset. Me being there, holding her hand, treating her like the queen she was, listen to all her worries and proposals to fix whatever need it to be fixed. Trying to read her mind to uncover the secret that was haunting her. Yes, that image of her I still carry over as the dream of finding someone as close as her in the real life, however impossible it may seem.

Transporting to another galaxy, as a child I felt complete and truly in love with Ellen Ripley. Yes, I don’t care if she was thirty and I was ten back then, I love everything about her. The way she grabs a flamethrower, communicates with Mother, her authority and her strength to face those bloody creatures after what happened to the Nostromo. I can go on and on and it will be worth it because she did not deserve everything she went through with the hateful Weyland-Yutani Corporation.

The only thing to rescue of all that, will be to seeing her so peacefully sitting on the bench before being requested to return to Acheron aka LV-426. As the shy kid that I was, probably I will be too afraid to ask her in a date, bad timing then but not today seeing how Sigourney Weber looks gorgeous and very attractive on his seventeens. There is a possibility that this time, she will accept to eat a corn bread with me.

And I kept the best for last, Evelyn Camahan also known as Evy. There was a time when all I wanted to do was to be an Egyptologist. Follow Evy and her obnoxious brother through all types of trouble. I even could have accompanying her to the lost city of Hamunaptra, even with her future husband Rick O’Conell. I don’t mind sharing; love is all about that right?

Well, maybe I would get jealous, fine then, I will be really jealous because our imaginary date will not be sitting down on a cafe on whatever street of El Cairo but instead, we will be reading dusty old books on the Cairo Museum of Antiquities. Being clumsy, making a mess and getting “accidentally scared by Jonathan. Indeed, that will be a lovely date and a unforgettable one, but I am afraid it will just be that, because I don’t like sand, it gets everywhere.

Also, I don’t usually stay on one place for so long, that is where Lady Croft enters, but that is another crush for another time. Meanwhile, these are my fictional characters with which I will date in a heartbeat.
