What is it with many people, including myself, that we wish to have a date with fictional characters? Maybe is the fact that she or he checks all the boxes of what you want from a person that you haven't happen being able to meet in real life. Or is it the fact that since it is a fictional character, we can date them inside our imaginary world without the harms we can find in a relationship in real life.

This is that occasion where many of us, wish we had the awesome golden ticket from the underrated film Last Action Hero. Just imagine how many dates and adventures we could have while interacting with characters that we love, and maybe sucker punch those jackass characters that screw everyone's existence in the movie.

But this time, I got to split my list of characters I would definitely love to date instead of just one. And bear with me, I'm not trying to be a simp with these characters, but like a classic 80s song, I can't help myself but to find them just 🎶simply irresistible🎶

3: Wichita /Krista (from Zombieland): First, this one would be difficult because I would have to take Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) place in that movie.
Which, in a way, would be a hard task to play the character like Jesse does. And second of all, I got to train hard to keep the rules of Zombieland intact as well as to execute them in order to survive, basically becoming the definitive Zombie Survivor and a hardcore Killing Machine for the undead if I want to make it through without becoming a flesh eater in the process.
And most importantly, to try not to faint if I'm going to kiss a badass zombie slayer that is played by Emma Stone.

Maybe she can be a little deceiving and most likely she will steal my weapons, but after a while, I would definitely dig an adventure with a gorgeous, badass, cute, and sympathetic zombie slayer that would definitely make the ride worth the while.

2: Lelaina Pierce (from Reality Bites): Winona Ryder, to this day, remains a crush for many, including myself. She rocked my world as Mina Harker in Dracula, as Kim Boggs in Edward Scissorhands, and made a fan the moment she appeared in Beetlejuice.

But if I would date a character of hers, if I happen to land in one of her movies right now, it would be with Lelaina Pierce from Reality Bites. Why, you might ask? Well, as a matter of fact, for a while I was experiencing her same situation of having a hard time finding a job after getting graduated, because it was hard to land a job until now. But the main attraction to this character and the reason we might get along, is that we are the most awkward people on the planet, not awkward in the uncomfortable way but the clumsy and relatable type of awkward. She is filled with doubts on her future, but somehow finds a way to overcome those obstacles,, not succesfully but at least she tries to overcome them.

The only obstacle that will be in my way to earning her heart would be competing against her main love interests from the film, Michael Grates played by the actor and director Ben Stiller and Troy Dyer, mainly Troy Dyer.

How do you beat a 90s heart rob actor like Ethan Hawke in his best decade? Even today, he would still beat me on stealing Winona Ryder's “Lelaina Pierce” heart with ease.

1: Tessa Altman (from Suburgatory)

If I had a chance to meet the main character of the Suburgatory show, Tessa Altman, which is marvelously played by an extremely underrated Jane Levy, but it would definitely be in a completely different alternate reality or a what if? type of situation, because as we know for those who had the chance to watch the show Suburgatory in their entirety, “spoiler alert” she stays with the love of her life, at the season finale, with the not so brilliant but kind-hearted, Ryan Shay.
But if Tessa and I could manage to find a situation where we could fall for each other, it would definitely would be in the same fashion of “Purple Rose of Cairo”, a marvelous Woody Allen film where the main protagonist falls in love with one of the characters from a movie named Tom Baxter, and that after watching the movie 5 times in a row, all of a sudden, he comes out of the movie and hangs out romantically with our main protagonist Sophia, played right on the spot by Mia Farrow.

It's like the most fun and interesting way I can imagine on how to manage to hang out with Tessa, and share our personal misadventures, probably comparing our worlds we are living in, and maybe in one part of our date, she invites me to explore the TV Show where she lives.
Why Tessa is #1? Well, it would be mostly because is defintely someone I would have happen to meet in High School in real life. We most likely would have started as friends, which would have been a nice start and mainly because, she reminded me of a girl I used to know back when I was starting college 6 -7 years ago.
And mainly because she is quirky, intelligent, she is funny and a badass, she has a cool dad, and mainly because she is a person I can feel that I can count it always when there is a problem.
Since this is just a what if? challenge list, and as far as we now there hasn't been a golden ticket like the one from Last Action Hero, I can always dream and maybe with the pass of time, plus my experiences with past relationships, maybe I can find a person which I can finally coincide with her feelings, and just maybe finally know what it feels to be just a friend for once, which is a thing I still haven't been able to know yet.
If you had the same golden ticket from “Last Action Hero” or the ability to summon a movie character into the real world, would you take the chance to do it ? Even if the adventure would eventually have to end? Let me know in the comments below. And if it's the first time you are reading me, then nice to meet you, I'm your friendly colleague Alex.
