STAR WARS: THE SITH LEGACY.

A Journey to the Origins of Darth Sidious.

This film about Darth Sidious' history begins approximately sixty years before The Phantom Menace, when the Galaxy appears to be in harmony. The Galactic Republic is strong, the Jedi continue to serve as peacekeepers, and the Sith appear to be extinct for a thousand years following the Ruusan Reformation.

On the planet Naboo, which is noted for its exquisite culture and aristocracy, a young noble called Sheev Palpatine, the youngest son of House Palpatine, grows frustrated with a dominating father and a society that values obedience and pretense over truth.

Sheev, who is recognized for his intellect, political guile, and silent ambition, has had weird nightmares since he was a teenager. He sees shadows, hooded individuals, burning cities, and empty thrones. The young man develops an interest in old manuscripts kept in the university's restricted archives.

On a voyage to Coruscant as a political aide, Sheev's life will take a 180-degree turn when he is followed by a stranger. In an underground library, that stranger introduces himself as Darth Plagueis the Wise, a Muun entity who claims to see his "dark shine" and limitless potential. Plagueis offers him all of his wisdom. Palpatine accepts, but does not submit; he is an unusual Sith apprentice, serving not out of devotion, but as a plan. He learns about the Force, genetic manipulation, and life and death, but all with a clear aim in mind.

While secretly training under Plagueis in the depths of Coruscant, Palpatine will rise politically in Naboo. He learns to lie without moving a muscle in order to present a flawless public image while secretly toying with the Dark Side. People admire him, and he captivates every politician, ally or foe.

In the meantime, Palpatine murders his own family following a series of political moves. He does it coldly and without enthusiasm. Not for vengeance... but because he needed to free himself.

Finally, his master discloses his ultimate goal: to end the Jedi cycle not via fear and lightsabers, but by infiltrating and controlling power structures from within. For this, he requires a bright and ruthless heir. So he tells him.

When Palpatine is already a promising Senator of Naboo, Plagueis, using a technique for manipulating midi-chlorians, attempts to complete his secret immortality experiment to rule forever. Palpatine realizes that his master is using him as a pawn in his plan and that he will never let him be free.

Plagueis trusts his creation so much that he lets his guard down, and that night Palpatine, whose power is already immense, kills him while he sleeps, slowly, poisoning him and using the Force to paralyze his organs one by one. He watches him die without remorse.

Sheev Palpatine, now Darth Sidious, inherits the Dark Side's secrets, the basis of prohibited Sith knowledge, and, most importantly, the vision of a new galactic order under his iron authority.

The film concludes with Palpatine viewing Coruscant from above, with his first pupil (Darth Maul), and plotting his great master move: the formation of a planetary conflict from the shadows that will bring us into the universe of the Star Wars saga.

Darth Sidious is a figure with boundless ambition who wields deceptions, manipulation, and political scheming as weapons stronger than the lightsaber. A fascinating and intriguing figure about whom we have always wanted to learn more.
