Mission Impossible- Final reckoning - Review

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
⭐️⭐️⭐️½ (3.5/5)

Tom Cruise once again dives headfirst into danger, dangling from planes and sprinting through chaos like only he can — but this time, the adrenaline doesn’t hit quite as hard.

The film kicks off with a noticeably slow first half, spending too much time laying the groundwork for an over-complicated plot. Instead of plunging into the high-octane action we expect, it lingers in dialogue-heavy scenes and long-winded setup, making the beginning feel more like a spy drama than an action thriller.
And while the Mission: Impossible series is built on relentless, jaw-dropping action, this installment delivers surprisingly fewer action sequences. The stunts we do get are still grand and impressive — especially one involving an aircraft — but they’re spaced out too far and don’t pack the consistent punch fans are used to. For a franchise known for upping the ante with each film, this one doesn’t quite raise the bar.

Another setback is the overly long runtime. Clocking in at nearly 3 hours, the film stretches itself thin. Some scenes feel bloated, and a tighter edit could have kept the momentum sharper and more thrilling throughout. The buildup doesn’t always lead to satisfying payoffs, leaving certain characters and storylines underwhelming.

That said, there are still things to admire:•Tom Cruise’s dedication is unmatched, and he delivers an earnest, physically intense performance.
•The cinematography and set design are top-tier, with slick international locations and strong visuals.
•The emotional weight of the story is stronger than some earlier entries, attempting to ground Ethan Hunt’s journey in something more personal.

However, The Final Reckoning feels like it’s trying to be both a sendoff and a setup, which leaves it stuck somewhere in the middle.
