Saving People, Hunting Monsters: My Life with Supernatural

There are shows that you love, shows that you grow up with and some others are still stuck with you, but for me Supernatural was everything for me. A show that lasted 15 seasons in The CW, because of the large fanbase and the strong commitments from the cast.

The story follows two brothers who dedicate their lives to hunt monsters, demons and even things out of this world. It was a story about family, grief, loneliness, anxiety, free will and how we always need to stick together. When it ended, a part of my life was over. Supernatural was a special one that kept going for so long and the writers found new ways to develop storylines.

I grew with this tv series, I started watching it when I was really young, and it ended in the right way. This show was part of my life, this characters, this world and how the cast was involved with his fanbase, so strong that even I worked in the last 3 episodes of the series, where was COVID-19 just hitting the world.

But, I recently binge watched it again and oh boy, I still love every second of it, I cry, I laughed and I understand every decision, every aspect and how this characters goes through an emotional journey and how their story ends. The final days of shooting, everybody was feeling different and we were doing Dean‘s goodbye, Jensen and Jared were crying so much that we couldn‘t hold tight our tears. It was a goodbye, it‘s over.

The worst part about people saying goodbye is that the others have to carry on.

Supernatural even pulled a Scooby Doo episode, a Titanic one, even they killed Hitler. Dean and Sam Winchester will be forever the greatest characters ever written for a tv series. 15 seasons is a long time, no many shows survive that kind of endurance and give us a proper finale, despite the circustances of the pandemic and they managed to comply with the fans and give us something truly unforgettable.

What I‘m writing this until now?

Because it‘s hard to let go sometimes and start to relieve your golden oldies, that‘s Supernatural it‘s a timeless show and that you can keep watching it and never get bored. Carry On My Wayward Son was the unofficial theme of the show and became a trend after Kansas re-release it and now the franchise is related to them and they kept the song running through all the show as the national anthem.

Hunting monsters, saving people, the family business. Thank you, Supernatural for the best 15 years of my life. There‘s not going to be another show like this.
