How to Write and Post an Article on Peliplat

Writing on Peliplat is simpler than it seems.

If you’ve been meaning to publish your first article (or just want to know what all the buttons do), this one’s for you.

I'm here to walk you through it, step by step. Let’s get started 👇

Step 1: Go to “Create → Write an article”

💡Tip: You have to be logged in to write and post!

This opens the text editor: your blank canvas for ideas, stories, essays, or anything else film-related you want to share.

Step 2: Add Your Title + Start Writing!

Think of the title as your hook — something that captures what your piece is about.

✏️ Example:
The Scene That Changed the Way I See the World

Now this section is where the magic happens. You can write long-form reviews, essays, listicles, stories — whatever feels like you.

💡Tip: If it's your first time, I recommend using the Editor guide. You can find it by clicking those 3 little dots next to the ‘Post’ button!

The Editor guide is essentially a built-in me! It shows you how to utilize all of the formatting and customization options we offer. Speaking of…

Step 3: Formatting

Something I love about writing on Peliplat are the options they give you to make your article feel like a reflection of your own style.

Highlight your text to access the toolbar. There you can format with bold, italics, underlines, hyperlinks and alignment.

I personally love using the quote function.

Step 4: Customization

Click the ‘+’ button next to your text for customization options!

Using the top row buttons you can:

  • Undo/redo (we all make mistakes!)
  • Format your texts as headings
  • Add a horizontal line divider
  • Make a bullet point list
  • Or a numbered list (I like bullets, clearly)

In my opinion, the most fun part about customizing your Peliplat articles are the bottom 5 options. These bad boys:

These tools help you add images, info cards, and other extras to make your article stand out and they’re super easy to use. Here's the lowdown:

🪄 Insert Info Card

Use this to link a movie or TV series directly in your article.
Start typing the name (for example: Shrek) and Peliplat will automatically generate a card with details.

💡 Tip: Use info cards when you first mention a film or person — it helps readers explore the topic right from your article.

🌟 Add Celebrity Info

This one’s perfect for actor spotlights, interviews, or when you’re writing about someone specific.
Type the celebrity’s name, and Peliplat will automatically hyperlink their name that will lead to the actor's info page.

🎬 Example: “In one of the greatest voice acting roles of our generation, Eddie Murphy brings the character of Donkey to life.”

🖼️ Insert Image

Add your own visuals: stills, behind-the-scenes shots, or mood images that complement your writing.

💡 Tip: Landscape images work best for readability on mobile and desktop.

🎥 Insert Media

Want to embed a video clip, trailer, or short scene analysis? Use this!

You can paste links from YouTube or other video platforms, and Peliplat will display the player directly in your article.

🎞️ Example: Add a trailer link to make your review more immersive.

🧩 Insert HTML

For the advanced users out there, this option lets you embed custom code snippets, like an interactive poll, Spotify playlist, or external widget.

⚠️ Note: Use it sparingly! A little custom flair can look great, but too much code might slow your article’s load time.

🪶 Alex's Formatting Tips

Keep your layout clean! Mix paragraphs, images, and info cards for flow.

Use H2 and H3 headers to break up sections (just like this one!).

Always preview your article before hitting publish to make sure it looks good on both desktop and mobile.

Step 5: Click “Post” (Don’t Panic! It Won’t Publish Yet!)

This button can be confusing, but don’t worry.

Clicking Post won’t make your article go live right away. It just takes you to the Post Settings page, where you can:

  • Add your Thumbnail image
  • Select a Writing Challenge to submit it in (if applicable)
  • Add hashtags (e.g. #Shrek #Animation #Dreamworks)
  • Choose a Category (if in doubt, General Reviews works!)
  • Confirm or add more Related Titles and Related Celebs
  • Add a *Spoilers* tag
  • Choose the correct corresponding Language

Think of this as your final prep stage, the place where your article gets dressed up before it steps onto the front page.

💡 Tip: Once everything looks good here, that’s when you hit Publish to officially share it with the community.

Step 6: Press “Post” or “Save as Draft”

You’ve written your masterpiece, added a catchy title, thumbnail, and confirmed the post settings — now you have two options:

🟣 Click “Post”
This is the real publish button. Once you hit it, your article officially joins the Peliplat feed and becomes visible to the community.

🎬This moment is like the credits rolling. You’ve done the work, now let the audience see it.

OR

🗂️ Save as Draft
Not ready yet? No problem. Click Save as Draft to keep your work private until it’s ready for its big debut. You can return to it anytime in “My Studio”

✏️ Sometimes the best takes need one more reread. Drafts are your safety net, not your graveyard.

Step 7: That's it, You're a Writer!

Congrats! You're officially a published writer 🎉
Here’s what happens next:

✨ Your article goes live
It’ll appear on the Home, Articles section, and your Profile page. Other readers can now discover your work.

💡 You can still edit it
Published doesn’t mean permanent. You can go back anytime, make small edits, or update your piece. (We all notice typos after hitting post, it’s a rite of passage.)

💬 People can engage
Readers can give you likes, LIGHT, follow you, share your work outside of Peliplat, and leave comments. Don’t be shy about replying, conversations are what make Peliplat feel alive.

🔦 Your article can be featured
Exceptional posts might get spotlighted by the community in the Weekly Favourites section, by Alex (hi 👋) in the Peliplat Dispatch, or by Peliplat Editors in the Peliplat Recommendations section.
