Springsteen Deliver Me From Nowhere Isn‘t Your Typical Biopic Movie

Springsteen Deliver Me From Nowhere is movie directed by Scott Cooper and stars Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser and Stephen Graham

The movie follows Bruce Springsteen as he prepares for the release of his third album and how he is determined to release an unconventional album during a depression crisis trying to face the traumas of his past.

The Biopic Isn‘t Your Typical One

Springsteen uses a different approach into the biopic format, instead of focusing about his entire life story, the film uses a portion of his life, where he was at his lowest and how he went to succeed in the artist he is now. Scott Cooper is known for slow burn dramas, but he wanted to represent what Springsteen is as a person, not about the fame and glory, he went into a different direction and that is how the film is a triumph.

It won‘t resonate with general audiences

As I said, Springsteen uses a unique approach in telling the story of this artist and since the film is dealing with a lot of themes and situations that made the singer who he is today, the film will not resonate with everyone, because it‘s about the inner struggles and personal conflicts, and not about the glory of a singer.

The script uses a basic structure at the beginning, but slowly transforms into something more powerful. The scenes in the concerts are limited, but well done and shifts the tone into something more deep and beautiful.

Jeremy Allen White‘s ability to sing is incredible and also his performance is spectacular, giving the script, he can be subtle in certain scenes, but the magic of this character lies in how normal the artist was in the 80s.

Jeremy Strong plays Jon Landau, his long time friend and producer and Strong displays his talent once again, as he dives down into the character and Stephen Graham plays his father, who was dealing with his personal demons, but Graham was great with the little amount of scenes that he was given.

The Powerful Message

Springsteen explores themes as depression, facing your fears and overcome those fears in finding your true self. Bruce was dealing with the traumas about his father being alcoholic and how bad he treated his wife and the lack of empaty and love for his son. Eventually, Bruce tried to find his path, but his depression is so deep and he is lost in a bucle of time and space where he can‘t find the light.

The movie uses a lot of that and makes a reminder about it, and the message is too powerful that by the end, you will feel for Bruce.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is a great film told in a very unconventional way, but will make you feel and face your own fears, even as big artists are dealing with normal human problems.
