Spider-Man Brand New Day is the latest adventure of Spidey and it‘s directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and stars Tom Holland, Sadie Sink, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Lisa Coyon Salas, Michael Mando, and Jon Berthnal.
Following Doctor Strange‘s spell at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the world has forgotten that Peter Parker exists. Four years later, Parker anonymously protects New York City as the hero Spider-Man and investigates a powerful new threat while his superpowers undergo a surprising and potentially dangerous evolution.

It‘s One Of The Best Films Since Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man Brand New Day is a breath of fresh air after a path full of multiverse storylines, and finally we get to see Spider-Man fightning from the ground, allowing himself to see what he does best, protecting a side of New York, even though, this takes place years later after the events of Daredevil Born Again Season 2, and Thunderbolts.
Spider-Man 2 is one of the best superheroes movies of all time, but Brand New Day sets the bar up high with this piece of work.
It‘s Grounded, Funny and Feels Like Spider-Man Again
Spider-Man faces multiverse again, but in a little way, because Peter is now a lonely person, who fights crime, but also has no one to talk to, no one that cares about him, and he finds his love for someone by visiting the grave of Aunt May, but he really is lonely. Because we live in a world that everyone forgot who Peter Parker is.
Now, Peter uses this to protect New York, and we see a glimpse of the villains like Tombstone, Scorpion, and others, and we see fightning in the ground, even with the presence of Punisher, feels like this is a new territory for him. Interacting with one of the best characters of Marvel TV is like a dream come true.

It Feels Different From The Homecoming Trilogy
It was always a shame that Tom Holland never actually played Peter Parker, he was always wearing the suit, but also we never explored more depth into the character, his fears, his dreams, like the psychology of Peter. Brand New Day introduces to the actual character of Peter, because we spend a great amount of time with Peter, his loneliness, and how the suit makes him forget sometimes that his normal life is not perfect.
Tom Holland delivers a truly great performance as Peter and Spider-Man, bringing the joy, the sorrow, and the pain that is carrying a big responsability. Holland has his moments during the film that feels and resembles the comic-book counterpart.
Is Visually Stunning
Spider-Man Brand New Day is one of the best looking Spider-Man films, the cinematography is astonishing, and Destin Daniel Cretton is the right choice to direct a Spider-Man movie, because it feels like a mix of the Sam Raimi trilogy. We get to see how Spider-Man moves in his webslingin through the city, with gorgeous visuals and an awesome camerawork that completely inmerses you into the action. It remineded me of the Playstation game, where Spider-Man takes you into a journey, going through the city, the sound of his foot walking into a ceiling, this one of the best technical aspects of the film.

The Awesome Third Act
Sadie Sink plays a mysterious character of the movie, but by the time you read this review, you probably know who it is. Sink is great in the role, and also opens the possibility of another cahpter in the Marvel Saga. His chemistry with Tom Holland is quite good, and by the third act, the movie shifts completely into pure action fuel that resembles the old movies from the superhero.
Also, the presence of Hulk is good, but we didn‘t need him at all in the story, it feels like a distraction to the main conflict, and while Mark Ruffalo is always good in the role, I wish he was in a different movie.
But, Punisher brings another layer to the story, it mixes well with Holland‘s Spider-Man, that could become a recurring character in this new trilogy. Jon Berthnal is great as Frank, and his PG-13 version feels somewhat different, but it‘s because of his vocabulary.
Final Thoughts
Spider-Man Brand New Day might not be the perfect movie, but it‘s one that almost suprasess the incredible Spider-Man 2 from Sam Raimi trilogy, that feels that the director Destin Daniel Crettoon is the best choice for the saga, and the one that will keep us closer to the best version of this character.

The film opens on July 31.
