A letter from Jane, who is nursing British troops, asks Tarzan's help in obtaining a malaria serum extractable from jungle plants. Tarzan and Boy set out across the desert looking for the plants and wind up ruining a German's attempt to capture a wild horse. They arrive in an Arab city and rescue a stranded American lady magician, sentenced to be hanged for carrying a secret message to the Sheik. To obtain the plants, Tarzan must fight prehistoric monsters, Nazis, and so on.

A smuggling gunrunner stirs up the belligerent Yorango tribe knowing they will attack the peaceful Ashubs tribe and bring Tarzan swinging through the trees to liberate the innocent natives and their queen, and divert Tarzan from his weapon selling elsewhere. Tarzan does so and swings back to his tree-house in time to save Jane from the unwanted-attention of another menacing villain.

In Africa to collect specimens for zoos Roger and Penny Reed, their daughter Eleanor and her fiancé Nevin Potter are led by the corrupt guide Olaf Punch who is in the pay of the local ruler Ben Alleu Bey. Tarzan rescues Eleanor when she becomes trapped in a mud pit. No one will believe her story of a white man who came to her rescue however. When a lioness tries to free her captured cubs, Tarzan is again forced to save Eleanor and then also frees the animals that have so far been captured. Punch has been payed to deliver Eleanor to Ben Alleu Bey to get the girl for him and when she is taken captive by tribesmen loyal to Alleu Bey, Tarzan has to save her one last time.

The Green Goddess is a totem worshiped by the primitive natives of a lost city deep in the jungles of Guatemala. It contains both a fortune in jewels and an ancient formula for a super-explosive which could threaten world safety in the wrong hands. From Africa, Major Martling and Ula Vale launch separate expeditions to find the Goddess and place its secrets in safe hands. Ula's fiance died in an earlier attempt at the same goal and she has taken up the trail in his memory against the advice of her lawyer, Hiram Powers, who covets the Goddess for himself and sends Raglan, a mercenary, to get it for him. Aboard their ship to Guatemala is Lord Greystoke - aka Tarzan - on a mission to find his old friend, d'Arnot, whose plane crashed in the vicinity of the same lost city. Tarzan joins forces with Martling, and they reach the lost city in time to save d'Arnot, but lose the Goddess to Raglan. Ula joins Tarzan and Martling in pursuit of Raglan, whence they must contend with the perils of the jungle, Raglan's henchmen, and a party of primitives from the lost city sent to retrieve the Goddess...

In the African Jungle, a group of Europeans come across the fabled white man who was raised by apes. Tarzan takes an immediate liking to the blond Mary Brooks and rescues her during a nasty storm. Not everyone in the party sees Tarzan as a friend and one of the safari guides, Jeff Herbert, has a written offer of £10,000 for anyone who can confirm that the ape man is dead. Mary's father disappears however, taken prisoner by those who guard the treasure of Zar. It's left to Tarzan to rescue him and the others who have been taken prisoner.

A young couple die in a plane crash in the jungle. Their son is found by Tarzan and Jane who name him Boy and raise him as their own. Five years later, a search party comes to find the young heir to millions of dollars. Jane agrees, against Tarzan's will, to lead them to civilization.

Zandra, white princess of a lost civilization, comes to Tarzan for help when Germans invade the jungle with plans to conquer her people and take their wealth. Tarzan, the isolationist, becomes involved after the Germans shoot at him and capture Boy: "Now Tarzan make war!"

Ivory poachers, headed by Lyra the She-Devil, Vargo and Fidel, capture a native tribe to carry their loot. Tarzan intervenes and is captured. Jane is also captured and believed killed, so the despairing Tarzan endures endless torture until he learns she is alive. He rises to the occasion and leads his elephants in the usual victory stampede.

After an airplane crashes in the jungle, Tarzan rescues its five occupants who were en route to Europe via Cairo. The private plane was owned by Dick Penrod, an avid flyer whose hobby has created a rift between him and his wife Diana. After their rescue, they also encounter a professional hunter who offers to escort them to the coast. He has other plans for them, however, having already made a deal with a local tribal chief. In the end, it's left up to Tarzan to rescue them all a second time.

Tarzan travels to South America at the request of his old friend, a Professor who believes an ancient cult is preying on the local native population. He soon dons his loincloth and with Cheetah and pet lion Baron travels up the Amazon river. He meets up with Captain Sam Bishop and his young ward Pepe and all of them are soon in the hunt for the Jaguar Men and their leader Barcuna. Tarzan rescues a pretty doctor, Ann Phillips, after her jungle hospital is burned to the ground. Together, they set off into the jungle to confront the cultists who are enslaving the local population.
