It's Saturday night in Berlin. People queue for hours to get in a certain Klub. Different micro-stories bloom in a chain reaction along the standing line.

Pünktchen and Anton are closest of friends. Being the daughter of a wealthy surgeon, young Pünktchen lives in a great house. Her mother, who always travels through the world more for public relation reasons than for the social tasks she pretends to fulfill, is never available to her as a mother. Anton, son of a single and sick mother in financial trouble, does his best to help her out of it by working late. Pünktchen decides to help her only friend (as nobody else would anyway) and starts singing in public places. Trouble arises when Anton can't resist stealing a golden lighter and Pünktchen's secret life is discovered by her parents. Two troubled families finally can see the need for actions to be taken.

Comedian Harmonists tells the story of a famous, German male sextet, five vocals and piano, the "Comedian Harmonists", from the day they meet first in 1927 to the day in 1934, when they become banned by the upcoming Nazis, because three of them are Jewish.

Produced by the Fox Movietone News arm of Fox Film Corporation and based on the book by Lawrence Stallings, this expanded newsreel, using stock-and-archive footage, tells the story of World War I from inception to conclusion. Alternating with scenes of trench warfare and intimate glimpses of European royalty at home, and scenes of conflict at sea combined with sequences of films from the secret archives of many of the involved nations.

In 1938, Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun live next-door to a Jewish couple, Arny and Rosa Goldenstein, in a spoof of mid-20th century American sitcoms which is driven by Hitler's inability to get along with his neighbors. The first episode opens with a caption card explaining the fictional back-story: it supposedly comprises the rediscovered "lost tapes" of an abandoned, never-aired American sitcom created by "Brandon Thalburg Jnr". Hitler and Braun have little in common with their historical counterparts, acting more like a stock sitcom husband and wife; Hitler, for example, appears in a golfing sweater and cravat as well as military garb. The series is a spoof, not of the Third Reich, but of the sort of sitcoms produced in the United States between the 1950s and 1970s "that would embrace any idea, no matter how stupid." In this spirit, the title, plot and dialogue are deliberately vapid and corny, and the characters have New York accents and are applauded whenever they arrive on set.

This remake of the Finnish movie FC Venus (2005) deals with a male soccer team, Eintracht Imma 95, whose players bet that they would win a match against their wives and girlfriends. Anna and Paul live together in Berlin, but suddenly his old friends from the village where he grew up ask him to help the local soccer club. Under the pretext that he would enjoy a new life in the country, they move to Imma. However, Anna, hating soccer, soon realizes Paul's real motives and has a bet with him: Eintracht Imma 95 plays against its members' wives and girlfriends. If the men win, Anna and Paul remain in the village. If the women win, they will move back to Berlin...

Three 15-year-old girls from Berlin-Kreuzberg, Klara, Mina and Tanutscha, are the protagonists of this documentary. The filmmaker Bettina Blümner accompanied her with her camera for a year and recorded her life on film.

Audre Lorde, the highly influential, award-winning African-American lesbian poet came to live in West-Berlin in the 80s and early '90s. She was the mentor and catalyst who helped ignite the Afro-German movement while she challenged white women to acknowledge and constructively use their privileges. With her active support a whole generation of writers and poets for the first time gave voice to their unique experience as people of color in Germany. This documentary contains previously unreleased audiovisual material from director Dagmar Schultz's archives including stunning images of Audre Lorde off stage. With testimony from Lorde's colleagues and friends the film documents Lorde's lasting legacy in Germany and the impact of her work and personality.

The documentary BERLINIZED describes this very Berlin-specific attitude in a reflection on and a journey to mid-1990s' Berlin. Filmmaker Lucian Busse, an active protagonist of the period, documents the transformation of Berlin after the Wall. But Berlinized represents more than just the 1990s - it is a metaphor for this virally catching creative feeling, the slightly rough directness, spiced up with a big dash of typical Berlin humor. Berlinized lets the former protagonists reflect how that temporary feeling of freedom shaped their individual lives, and to what degree that freedom can still be found among the neat order of today's Berlin. These reflections are as diverse as the interviewees and as multifaceted as the changes in those times.
