Biography

His name is John Wesley Wilson Jr., but for performance purposes he goes by his stage name JD Wesley (John David Wesley). The name John David (JD) is a tribute to both his father (John Sr., living) and his grandfather (David; deceased). He has been singing publicly for 30+ yrs. He started his journey at the age of four within his father's church Bethlehem Baptist in the Charleston, SC area. He marched and played the trumpet in the International Institution of Sound (IIOS) Marching Band; he sang 1st Tenor with the world renowned concert choir at Johnson C. Smith University. He majored in Vocal Performance. JD got together with former college musicians and singers and launched the band known as "The Company". In 2007 JD co-wrote with the band manager Hanock Hickman, "A Song for Music" on their debut album "Daybreak"! JD has performed with various Gospel artist such as; Tamala and David Mann (From the Tyler Perry Hit Plays & TV Series), Patrick Love, Kathy Taylor Brown, and Donald Lawrenc
