Colin Lawton

Colin Edward Lawton is an African American actor, songwriter and musical performer, born and raised in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York. Lawton is also a classically trained visual artist, graphic designer and photographer from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, as well as a music video/film director and social activist. Growing up in a single parent home, Lawton found a deep, nurtured love for the arts through illustration, which eventually led to the expansion and study of Graphic Design,a major in which he received a Bachelor's Degree from Pratt. After losing his mother during his junior year of college, Lawton contended with severe bouts of depression, while still managing to hold on to the faith that his mother would not want him to give up his craft and will to succeed. Lawton freelanced for 5 years after college before finding himself doing photography at independent and underground Hip Hop shows around New York City; being immersed deeper and deeper into the culture led
