Stanton Lee

Stanton Lee was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in the sub-community of Echo Park. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps via the delayed entry program in his junior year of high school and reported to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego the day after his senior graduation in 1990. After earning the specialty of infantry: machine gunner, Stanton served at Marine Barracks Subic Bay, Philippines and then at the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines at Camp Pendleton, CA. After his initial enlistment he attended the Pasadena City College and the California State University Los Angeles graduating with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 1998. Stanton earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant in 2000 and graduated from the Infantry Officers Course in 2001. He then served with the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines and participated in the initial deployment for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
