Biography

Arica Himmel, born and raised in New York City, made her theatrical debut off-Broadway in The Layover (by Leslye Headland, Second Stage Theatre). According to The Wrap, "11-year-old Himmel delivered the most unsentimental child performance ever." In 2018 and 2019 she appeared in readings of Hang Man by Stacy Osei-Kuffour. Arica guest-starred on God Friended Me, recurred in the series Thanksgiving with Amy Sedaris and Chris Elliot and played a supporting role in Before You Know It with Mandy Patinkin and Mike Colter, which premiered in competition at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. She appeared in an episode of black-ish which introduced her character on the spin-off mixed-ish, the ABC-TV family comedy. Now in the show's second season, Arica stars as the teenage version of Rainbow Johnson played by Tracee Ellis Ross on black-ish. Arica is a writer and aspiring filmmaker.
