Alberto Vázquez studied Fine Arts at University of Vigo and Valencia, then illustrated and authored comic books—among them Psiconautas, El evangelio de Judas, La caza—while co-founding the Polaqia collective. He moved into animated film, adapting his own graphic novel in a short version, later expanding into feature-length work as writer, director, art director and layout artist. His short films and larger animated features have earned multiple Goya Awards and been screened at international festivals. His working methods include building projects from his comics, using storyboard, layout and visual design early; integrating narrative, illustration, and animation phases; and selecting themes combining fantasy with darker social or psychological elements.
