Tom Rhys Harries

Tom Rhys Harries trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, initially working in Welsh and English theatre before moving into London’s West End and earning recognition as a Screen International “Star of Tomorrow” in 2012. His artistic formation grew out of stage experience in plays by writers such as Jez Butterworth, where rehearsal periods and character grounding supported his development. Transitioning into television and film, he chose projects based on script and storytelling, valuing the writing foundation and variety across mediums. He articulated differences among performance modes: theatre as an actor’s medium, film as a director’s medium, television as a writer’s medium . His preparation includes holistic practices—music, sketch work, extensive textual annotation—and collaboration with writers and directors across stage, TV, and streaming platforms.
