With her refreshing bluesy-folk-pop sound and creative you tube videos, Katie Gavin became an Internet sensation in December 2010 after her unique cover of Willow Smith's hit single "Whip My Hair" reached nearly 200,000 views in one month. Those lucky enough to know Katie's original material, as well, have found that her writing and talent is beyond her years. The 18-year-old high school senior from the Chicago area began penning songs and playing guitar at the age of 13. Two years later she was accepted into the prestigious Grammy Camp, a summer program at the USC Thornton School of Music sponsored by The Grammy Foundation for aspiring musicians, producers, writers, and promoters.
