Alex Wong

Alex Wong was born on November 13, 1986 in Edmonton, Alberta as Alexander Dustin King Wei Wong. He began dancing at 7, eventually studying at the Goh Ballet Academy in Vancouver. After winning multiple awards in tap & ballet, he became the 1st Canadian to win the Prix de Lausanne in 2004. He then joined the American Ballet Theatre Company & the Miami City Ballet where he was eventually promoted to principal soloist. He auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance (2005), where he was chosen as a show finalist. Because contractual obligations w/ MCB kept him from competing, he ultimately decided to leave MCB & audition again the following year. After landing in the top 10, a snapped Achilles tendon took him out of the running. After securing an agent, he began to focus on commercial & theater work.
