Letitia Wright is a Guyanese-British actress, best known for her role as Shuri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As a young child, her family moved to London, where her early interest in acting motivated her to participate in school plays. At age 16, she enrolled in the Identity School of Acting and she began her career with television appearances with Top Boy and Humans. In 2015 she landed her first starring role in Urban Hymna, then, she continued to excel in television with appearances in Doctor Who and Black Mirror.
Letitia co-starred in Black Panther (2018) as Shuri, the princess of Wakanda and reprised the role in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). Her portrayal of Shuri made her a symbol of empowerment for many young women, as she depicted a black woman in a leadership role.
Wright has also acted in films such as Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One (2018), The Commuter (2018) and Death on the Nile (2022). Additionally, she lent her voice to Nooshy in the film Sing 2. She has received several awards for her work, including a BAFTA, and has been recognized as one of the most promising young actresses of her generation, praised for her ability to play characters with authenticity.
