Biography

Carlo Carere is an actor, writer and producer known for Distant Vision, where he was directed by Francis F. Coppola. Born and raised in Naples, Italy, he became a Captain of the Carabinieri, the Italian national Police Force, heading investigations into violent crimes, mafia and domestic terrorism. By the time he left law enforcement to pursue acting and writing, he had served as a NATO Peacekeeper in Bosnia and Kosovo and had caught one of Italy's most wanted criminals who had escaped prosecution for 33 years. Carlo moved to Rome, Italy, and was cast as a series regular on one of Italy's most successful TV shows, "Don Matteo." He worked in television, film and theater in Italy, meanwhile publishing several thriller novels, one of which earned him praise from critics as "Italy's Best Thrillerist."
