Derek James Carlson

Born in Tucson, Arizona to Randy and Donna Carlson - Derek discovered a love of filmmaking at a young age. Picking up his Dad's camcorder, he created hundreds of films before the age of 18. After graduating from Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, Derek went to Pima Community College for 3 years with a focus on filmmaking and media production. After this, Derek moved to Tennessee to attend Lee University, and then off to Los Angeles for a year to attend the Los Angeles Films Studies Center. After returning to Arizona, Derek started a film production business and has DPd, Directed and Produced hundreds of commercials, films, documentaries, music videos and short films and has won dozens of awards in the process.
