Biography

The son of a funeral director and a record dealer, Doc Butler originates from the tiny village of Feckenham in Worcestershire, U.K. He has appeared in film, stage, radio and television. Doc currently plays character James Woodgate on Coronation Street. He can also be seen playing various characters in Clarke Cable's Film Review Report and as Nials H in Nurses Who Kill on UKTV. Leading film credits include The Vengermader in award nominated Folklore's Intimates, Mank in Portabello Road Film Festival finalist Taste and Gordon LeRotter in award winning In The Bin. Doc has also done a lot of work with his brother Oobah for VICE including playing Chris on Eggheads on BBC2 and was involved in the now famous The Shed At Dulwich prank. Doc has played many roles in the world of theatre and began his professional career by playing Kieran in the UK debut of American dark comedy The Irish Curse by Martin Casella.
