Biography

Moody McCarthy (born Matthew Patrick McCarthy) is an American stand-up comedian who has made multiple network TV appearances. McCarthy was raised in Syracuse, NY, the 6th of 7 children, and graduated from Corcoran High School in 1984, before attending New York University. Moody began his comedy career in Syracuse in 1992 and from 1994-95 covered sports on WYYY's ("Y94FM") morning show. He is still a regular guest on WTKW ("TK99") with "Gomez & Dave in the Morning". McCarthy has made appearances on "The Late Show with David Letterman" July 12th, 2012 and September 5th, 2014. His first network appearance was on the re-vamped "Star Search" in 2003. Moody also appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in 2004, and was a semi-finalist on "Last Comic Standing" in 2006. In 2014 he advanced to the 2nd round of "America's Got Talent" but was not shown performing in the telecast. His debut CD, "The Night it Went Well", has received play on satellite radio.
