Lee Ji-eun, professionally known as IU, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actress. She began her career as a trainee at LOEN Entertainment in 2007 and debuted musically in 2008. IU developed her songwriting and production skills over multiple albums and EPs, exploring diverse musical genres, and also expanded into acting, performing in television series and contributing to soundtracks. IU has participated in large-scale concert tours, collaborated with other artists, and represented brands in media campaigns. Rolling Stone named her among the greatest singers of all time, and she has received multiple awards, including Baeksang Arts Awards and Gallup Korea Singer of the Year.
