Biography

"Acting is really about having the courage to fail in front of people". A native of San Diego, California, Adam Driver's childhood was marked by his parents' divorce, and it was during that time that he discovered his passion for acting. But after the 9/11 attacks, Driver enlisted in the Marines, where he served more than two years before being medically discharged due to injury. Driver then enrolled at the prestigious Juilliard School and immersed himself on stage in several Broadway productions. It was his role as the unpredictable Adam in Lena Dunham's acclaimed HBO series "Girls" that catapulted Driver to pave the way for his transition to the big screen. After roles in "J. Edgar," "Lincoln," "Frances Ha," "Here I Leave You" and Scorsese's "Silence," it was his portrayal of the tormented villain Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy that cemented his status as a Hollywood icon. Known for his commanding presence and deep nuance, Driver has delivered standout performances from the poetic introspection of "Paterson" to "BlacKkKlansman" and "A Marriage Story," whose versatility earned him multiple award nominations. From the biopics "House of Gucci" and "Ferrari" to mumblecore, the Star Wars universe, an undercover detective and a brooding father, Adam Driver continues to push boundaries with his charming performances.
