Biography

Brantly Jackson Watts is an Atlanta writer, director and producer. Her award-winning films have screened both locally and internationally to critical acclaim. In 2012, she premiered her highly anticipated documentary feature, "AKA Blondie," at the Atlanta Film Festival with husband, Jon Watts. Brantly has since navigated into the world of narrative film with her latest short film, "Birthday Cake." Her work is primarily focused on character-driven, Southern Gothic themes that spotlight difficult subject matter such as domestic violence, prostitution and poverty. She is currently working on a feature adaption of "Birthday Cake" called "Colors of Things." Brantly serves as one of the Atlanta Film Society's first Filmmakers in Residence. She is also the creator of the Homespun Series, a curated series of short documentary films featuring local filmmakers and the characters that make Atlanta unique.
