Biography

Sue Appleby trained at The Central School of Speech and Drama and The University of Birmingham. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for 'Adding Machine: A Musical' at the Finborough Theatre, London in 2016. In 2014, Sue played 1927's 'The Animals and Children Took to the Streets' at the National Theatre, London, having previously toured the show to 21 countries, including Jordan, Armenia and Azerbaijan. She returned to the National in 2019, appearing in 'Rutherford & Son' directed by Polly Findlay. Film/TV credits include: Call the Midwife (BBC), The Afterlife Bureau (Thunderseekers Entertainment/Kaine Levy Productions), Downsizing (Mad Ninja Films) and Under the Dust (MAM Productions). Theatre credits include: Rutherford & Son (National Theatre); Godspell (West End); Little Women (West End); Three Men in a Boat (UK Tour); Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing (UK/European Tour); The Vaudevillains (Les Enfants Terribles); 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Hull Truck)
