Biography

Kimberly was born in Cambodia on September 14, 1978 near the end of the Khmer Rouge Genocide War. The Pal family like many other Cambodians became displaced after the war, the Pal family made the dangerous journey to Khao Daeng, Thailand seeking safety and help; they stayed in a refugee camp while awaiting political asylum. The Pal family migrated to United States of America in February 1983. They started their American roots in St. Paul, Minnesota but in the summer of 1990 Kimberly and a few of her family members moved to Long Beach, California. Kimberly studied theatre and dramatic arts and performed at The Playhouse at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach under Randy Bowden during her high school years. Randy Bowden was nominated for the inaugural Excellence in Theatre Education Award, presented by Carnegie Mellon University and the Tony Awards in 2015.
