Kate Sanford

Katherine Danese Howell was born August 18, 1949 on a small farm in Kentucky. The only child of Helen Spear Howell, a factory worker and Daniel Lincoln Howell, a farmer, continues to live on that family farm. She married her high school sweetheart, Henry David Sanford, on April 29, 1972. Affectionately known as HD, and professionally named Dave Sanford, her husband of 49 years is also a professional actor. They have two grown children: Luke Sanford of Wendell, NC and Summer Sanford Bergeron of Sterling, VA and twin grandchildren. During two decades of working as a res agent for a major airline, she assumed the name of Kate, making her phone persona easier to state. Kate worked as a caterer, in addition to her airline career. Her acting career began when she joined Fountain Square Players in Bowling Green Ky. The community theater group gave her a stepping-stone. Kate has been a professional actress since 1995.
