Biography

Dan Savoie, the editor of 519 Magazine, has established himself as a prominent figure in Canada's music and entertainment industry. Born in Toronto in the late 60s, Savoie's passion for music began in his teenage years with a self-published fan club and fanzine for the band KISS. This early venture into the industry was even acknowledged in the liner notes of the band's album Hot In The Shade, cementing Savoie's place in rock history. Throughout his storied career, Savoie has interviewed and photographed some of the biggest names in rock, including KISS, Metallica, Aerosmith, Poison, Mötley Crüe, Tom Jones and Disturbed. But his talents don't stop there, as he takes on the film industry, directing the film House on Hammond Road and making appearances in films such big screen blockbusters as 2012, Jennifer's Body, and Night At The Museum 2.
