Biography

Brown was born Sept. 2, 1929, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and served in the Navy as a musician. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1959. Seymore H. Brown was a sitting judge in the City of Las Vegas Municipal Court Department 2. He served as a Las Vegas policeman in 1959 and was later elected to the position of Judge in 1973. He was known as a technological innovator and created the first video court hearings in the country for incarcerated defendants. He enjoyed the Las Vegas entertainment lifestyle and befriended such greats as singer Wayne Newton, who later narrated his courtroom video introduction for traffic defendants. In 1988 He won the National Association for Court Management's Justice Achievement Award. In 1990 Brown was voted Judge of the Year by the Nevada Judges Association. Four years later he was recognized for excellence by a national judges association He also acted in Crime Story (1987) and Danger Zone II: Reaper's Revenge (1989) as the judge.
