Jodie Comer began her artistic formation while attending school in Liverpool, where she took acting classes and secured her first professional role in a BBC radio play on the advice of an agent. She started screen work with guest appearances in British television series, engaging with ensemble casts in scripted serial production. Over time Comer progressed to more substantial roles in television dramas, expanding her work into international productions that demanded sustained collaboration with directors and fellow performers. Parallel to her screen career, she maintained involvement in theatre, appearing in stage productions in London’s West End and in runs that transferred to Broadway, reflecting a continued engagement with live performance methods.
