Biography

Markoesa Hamer (1985) studied acting in London at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and in Amsterdam at the ATKA; Academy of Dramatic Arts & Music Theatre. She was born in the Netherlands to Jim Ennis, an Irish theatre director/actor, and Judith Hamer, a Dutch-Surinamese Modern Dancer. She has a sister, Ciara, who is a journalist and lives in Cardiff Wales UK, and a brother, Finn, who is a guitarist and lives in Manchester UK. Markoesa plays the role of Marlene in the German Netflix original series How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast) (2019-2021), and Fleur in the Dutch series Koppensellers (Headhunters) (2020). In 2020 she won the award for Best Actress for her role in the short film Nesteltherapie (Nesting Therapy) (2019) at the International Short Film Festival Middelburg. In 2019 she won Best Actress for her role in the short film Hou Vast (Hold On) at the Tilburg Film Festival (2018).
