Biography

American actor, fight director, and producer, Carman Matthew Lacivita was born in California, to Somkuan Chang Pech Pol, and John Lacivita. His father is German/Italian and Greek, and his mother is Thai/Vietnamese. His mother is from Bangkok Thailand, and his father is from New Jersey. Carman is also a professional tennis instructor, and is the co-founder to two theater companies, Amphibian Stage Productions and The Coop Theatre. His father was in the Air-Force for 20 years, which allowed him to experience life in many cities across the country and the world. Spending his early years mostly in San Antonio, TX. He received a BFA from Texas Christian University and an MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. Carman arrived on the NYC theater scene when he was 25, via a production of Edward Hall's "Rose Rage: Henry the 6th Parts 1, 2, 3" which transferred from Chicago, winning both the Bayfield and Joseph Jefferson Awards for his performance as Henry.
