Biography

Sean Rea was born in Dungannon, Co Tyrone, N. Ireland. He was always involved in amateur dramatics as a child, playing with numerous local groups, most notably Footlights Dungannon, The Bardic Theatre Donaghmore and The Marketplace Theatre, Armagh before moving to London to study professionally at 18. He graduated from Rose Bruford College in 2007 with a BA (Hons) in Acting and lived in London until 2012. In 2008 he filmed "And Kill Them" as part of Channel 4's "Coming Up" series, making his television debut. His work in film also began in 2008 playing alongside John Shrapnel in Bruce Dickenson's Aleister Crowley horror, "Chemical Wedding". In 2010 he guest-starred in BBC's "Survivors", marking his first appearance on mainstream primetime television. Most recently Sean received acclaim for his portrayal of Taximan in Stacey Gregg's "Lagan" on the London stage which was nominated for an Off West End award for best ensemble.
