Biography

Darren Whitfield was brought up in Barnsley, South Yorkshire where he attended Wombwell High School and latterly Barnsley College. At an early age Darren knew he wanted to be involved in TV and films, initially as a stuntman. However, it was his writing that showed early promise having a comedy game show made in to a pilot by Yorkshire Television (who are part of the ITV network). Although never commissioned for a series it showed his writing potential and Darren has since gone on to write many comedy sketches and gags for TV and radio. It wasn't until his 30's Darren decided to turn his interests more to performing as well as writing, with his first chance coming performing sketches in "The Cage". In 2009, Darren played John Walker in the rough and raw crime thriller "The Crew" starring Scot Williams, Kenny Doughty, Stephen Graham and Rory McCann.
