Biography

Jill Winternitz is known for her work in the Netflix smash hit The Sandman, in which she plays the recurring role of The Good Doctor. Born and raised in Northern California, Jill trained at the Moscow Art Theatre School and UCLA before gaining a place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Jill's career began in the West End playing the lead roles in both Olivier Award-winning Once, and the crowd favorite, Dirty Dancing. She went on to play leading roles in new plays at the Park Theatre and Finborough Theatre, both times being nominated for Best Female Performer in the Off West End Awards. Her screen work also includes Havoc alongside Tom Hardy, directed by Gareth Evans for Netflix, the lead in UK indie film Young Gun, as well as supporting roles in Good Omens, Anansi Boys, Doctor Who, and Indiana Jones 5. She has Ukrainian heritage and is proficient in Russian language.
