Jay McCarrol

Jay McCarrol is a musician, composer, writer, and actor whose work spans television, film, and digital media. He co-created, co-wrote, and co-starred in the independent web series Nirvana the Band the Show, its television continuation, and the feature film adaptation, collaborating closely with filmmaker Matt Johnson. McCarrol frequently composes scores for Johnson’s projects and has expanded his musical work through the synth pop duo Brave Shores. His career combines writing, performance, and composition, earning recognition through multiple Canadian Screen Award nominations and a win for Best Original Score in 2024.
