Ashley Dru Douglass

Ashley grew up in New York City and Stamford, Connecticut. Throughout childhood her main focus was ballet training, but she also performed in musicals and plays at many of CT's professional theaters. By the time Ashley graduated high school she was a working professional dancer but to some peoples surprise, she went straight into acting school, letting it be known that this was her plan all along. She grew up with parents who taught kids acting, performed professionally themselves and were both graduates of the Neighborhood Playhouse under Sandy Meisner. Ashley is a graduate and has been a Masters student of William Esper in NYC and a long time student of Wynn Handman. She has also studied in the Master's classes of Ivana Chubbuck and Larry Moss out West. Casting directors and theater critics have compared Ashley to a young Cherry Jones, Laura Linney and Annette Bening.
