Biography

Scott Hogsett was born in 1972 in Spokane, Washington. The son of Doug and Donna Hogsett, Scott also has a sister, Jennifer. At age nineteen Hogsett was in an accident that left him a quadriplegic. Undaunted, Scott took up playing wheelchair rugby in 1996 after moving to Phoenix, Arizona and eventually established himself as a vital member of the U.S. Quad Paralympics team. Among Hogsett's notable achievements in wheelchair rugby are: The bronze medal in the 2004 and 2012 Paralympic Games, the gold medal in the 2008 Paralympic Games, the gold medal in the 2006 and 2010 World Championships, the silver medal in the 2008 North American Cup, and the gold medal in the 2008 Canada Cup. He helped win the National Championship for the wheelchair rugby team Phoenix Heat in 2005 and was named the U,S. Quad Rugby Association Athlete of the Year in 2007. Scott was inducted into the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 2014. Moreover, Hogsett has a bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Arizona
