Biography

One of several young directors making waves in the Cornish-British film industry. On leaving college, Mark worked as a promo producer in Soho and then, like many film-makers looking for inspiration, returned to Cornwall in 2002 to work as an independent filmmaker. He gained critical success with his first feature, "Golden Burn" which won The Frank Copplestone First Time Director's Award at the Celtic Film and Television Award in 2002. He has followed this success with numerous documentaries and low-budget feature films including Man Who Needed a Traffic Light, "The Rabbit" and "The Lobsterman", a documentary on the life of Cornish playwright Nick Darke, all made under his production company, O-Region based in Truro, Cornwall.
