Jeremy Allen White

Biography

Jeremy Allen White, born in Brooklyn, New York, was drawn to the world of the arts from an early age. After training in ballet, jazz and tap dancing, he made the crucial decision to change direction and pursue acting. He debuted with the coming-of-age film "Beautiful Ohio" (2006) and the courtroom drama "Conviction". But it was his award-winning role as "Lip" Gallagher on the hit series "Shameless" that propelled his career. White became one of the most talented young actors on television thanks to his emotional depth, vulnerability and magnetic performance for more than 11 seasons. Following the series' conclusion, he starred as a self-destructive chef in the critically and popularly acclaimed comedy-drama series "The Bear," which earned him a Golden Globe, Emmy and Critic's Choice Award. Jeremy Allen White has become a leading figure in Hollywood and the fashion world. And thanks to his interpretation and versatility of intricate and multifaceted characters in both mainstream and independent productions, he continues to expand his creative horizons as in the upcoming films "The Iron Claw" and "Fingernails".

Yes, Chef, Yes, The Bear Season 4 is good!

There‘s something incredible about this show called The Bear and it‘s the way it‘s written, structured and delivered to the audiences. I really enjoyed the storyline of Carmy Berzatto, and the ability of writer-director Christopher Storer in capture the essence of a kitchen. When it first debuted, the show was used as an example of what to do and what not in a kitchen for new beginners, and as the show progressed, it was more than that. It‘s a story about pain, loneliness and survival and findin

Finding My Own Path Through The Bear’s Traumatic Lens

After waiting a year, The Bear Season 4 is finally premiering on the 25th of this month. Last year, after the third season aired, I wrote an article discussing how The Bear made me realize that the protagonist, Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), had been repeating the same traumatic patterns all along. It further helped me accept a somewhat difficult truth: some traumas don’t naturally heal with time; they first need to be acknowledged. For me personally, this was profoundly significa

The Iron Claw is So, So Sad

The Iron Claw is a 2023 A24/Lionsgate movie directed and written by Sean Durkin. It stars Zac Efron, alongside Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson and Lily James. The movie made $45.2-million on a budget of $15.9-million. The story is inspired by the real-life Von Erichs, a renowned family in professional wrestling entertainment. To learn about the family’s true story, I’d recommend watching the Dark Side of the Ring episode, “The Last of the Von Erichs.” The Iron Claw is a relatively faithful

SHAMELESS: I Would Date Fiona Gallagher… and Her Entire Family

If I had to pick one character from movies or TV to date, without a doubt, it would be Fiona Gallagher from Shameless (US). And I’m not just saying this because she’s gorgeous, fiercely independent, or because she could probably outdrink me under the table. No—Fiona is my type in the most fundamental way: she’s chaotic but full of heart, completely devoted to her family, and struggling through life in a way that feels raw and real. And honestly? If you date Fiona, you don’t just date her. You da

How Watching 'The Bear' Season 3 Led Me to My First Therapy Session

Recently, I started seeing a psychologist for the first time in my life, and one of the reasons that pushed me to do it was "The Bear" Season 3. First off, let me clarify that I'm not saying "The Bear" is so bad it drove me to therapy. Quite the opposite—the third season is so well-crafted that I'm totally immersed in it. It made me realize something I'd been denying all the while: some psychological wounds don't just heal as you grow up, and time alone can't fix them. Even if you know there's a

Bob Woolsey: This is a beautiful article. I also loved the 3rd season, despite the many criticisms of the story being meandering. You've tapped into one of the core tenants of the show from my point of view - do you need to be damaged to be able to achieve at a high level? When Carmy turns his back on Claire because he believes he can't have a successful restaurant AND a healthy relationship, it really highlights this trade off. However, in the end, I think Carmy is just using that as an excuse and running from someone who genuinely cares for him because he doesn't know how to receive that love. I also love the Tina episode in this season. She's such a wonderful character who also has underlying trauma and uses obvious defence mechanisms to keep herself from getting hurt. Seeing her backstory was very affecting. What a great show!

Amábamos a nuestro padre. Y amábamos la lucha libre” [1] Este año se estrenó en cines la película sobre la familia Von E

"Medium Ugly" Could ALMOST Be A Social Revolution

Scrolling on YouTube the other day, I came across a video discussing the phenomenon of “medium ugly” men. Little did I know that video (plus another one about how most of us are “borderline ugly”, but in a good way) would rewrite my entire brain chemistry - and honestly, I think it could do a bit more. The discourse about being attracted to “ugly hot” people might just be a social revolution. What exactly is “medium ugly”? Well, some celebrities get the label a bit more than others online, like

The first season of The Bear leaves viewers with a somewhat dreamy ending. Along with the restaurant staff and his family, Carmen lives under the emotional trauma caused by Michael's death.
