Michelle Lawler

Michelle Lawler is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer. Her first feature documentary FOREVER'S GONNA START TONIGHT won numerous audience awards including Outfest LA 2010. Michelle has shot several award-winning short films including YOU'RE DEAD TO ME which won the Imagen Award for Best Short Film 2014, as well as the feature film - Outfest Grand Jury Award winner WILDNESS directed by Wu Tsang. She recently lensed an episode of TRANSPARENT season 4 and completed the feature RUST CREEK (2017) directed by Jen McGowen. Michelle co-created and lensed the widely-lauded comedy web series HUDSON VALLEY BALLERS Directed by Silas Howard-with Saturday Night Live veteran Paula Pell, staring Tina Fey and Kate McKinnon. She has shot several pieces for exhibition at MoMA, the Hammer Museum, Venice Biennale and Whitney Biennial. Most recent of which is WEED KILLER (2017) (MoCa) alongside Kerry James Marshall.
